JAXX Night Club has been voted the Greatest Concert Venue of All Time! The small clubs did very well throughout the tournament but JAXX beat them all and easily took out Madison Square Garden in the finals. By looking at their website they have a lot of great shows and obviously have a loyal following. JAXX posted a link to this website (thank you very much) but most importantly their supporters turned out in support.
We don't preach on this site - but support your local clubs that have live music because without them the next great band may never break out.
Congratulations JAXX and keep on rocking!!!
Make sure to vote in the Greatest Album of All Time Tourney - 1st round match ups are set.

GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME
We have a policy of not calling a contest before the polls close but considering our current finals is not much of a match up here is a preview of the next tournament.
Click on the image below to view the current bracket. If you have some suggestions you better get them in quick but go ahead and submit them. The polls for the match ups will be up later today so check back later to cast your vote!

You have got to be kidding.
In the long and illustrious history of this website we have never had any contestant in any round win 100% of the votes. Madison Square Garden has to be considered the odds on favorite after it's 100% margin of victory of the Tokyo Dome. Even if MSG were going to get 100% of the votes we wouldn't have expected it this late in the tourney.
Count on little ole Jaxx Nightclub from Virginia to put up a fight though. They have had a strong following throughout the whole tournament so it maybe closer than anybody would ever have thought.
Voting ends Tuesday night!

Semifinal match ups are set!
If the last round was the round of the small venue then this was the round that the big boys got some revenge. Every match up that featured a larger venue won. The lone match up that featured two clubs ended up with a relatively new metal club in Virginia taking down a punk rock legend. Jaxx took down CB GB's with a choke slam leaving the old punk club begging for mercy. Can Jaxx take down The Long Beach Arena to make it to the finals.....odds are yes. Jaxx supporters must have discovered this site because they have received more votes than any other contestant.
Don't forget to submit your suggestions for The Greatest Album of All Time. We have received some excellent suggestions but can always use more. That tournament will start Tuesday night soon after this one ends.
Let's get it on!

3rd round match ups are set!
The surprise of this tournament has been the excellent showing of small night clubs. From LA to London the night clubs in the tournament have been defeating the legendary large venues. Will this continue in the 3rd round....we predict MSG to move on but the rest of the arenas to go down hard!

Greatest Concert Venue 2nd Round match ups are set.
Now that half of the dead wood is gone it is time for some excellent early match ups. There is a good mixture of venues represented on almost every continent. North and South America, Europe, and Asia are all represented well. No Antarctic venues but maybe with global warming that will change.
Remember to send suggestions for Greatest Album of all time for the upcoming tournament.

Upcoming tourney
A while back we determined the Greatest Album Cover (Powerslave) but we haven't determined which is the best musically. Now is that time.
We will have our list of albums already in the tournament up sometime this week but in the meantime if you have a suggestion for the tournament leave it in the comments.

Nicko WINS!
Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden destroyed all the competition in the tournament including the finals, which ironically was against the guy he replaced. Of all the tournaments we've run no one has dominated every round so easily.
Congratulations to Nicko!

Upcoming tournament.

The Greatest Concert Venue of All Time! Is it Madison Square Garden, The Hollywood Bowl, or a seedy club in London? We're not looking for the most famous but the best whether it is a nightclub or a huge festival such as Donnington.
Submit your suggestions in the comments section. Asok should have a listing of venues later today or early tomorrow.

Finals are set!
This is it! Iron Maiden's original drummer vs the guy who replaced him. Both drummers won by similar numbers but the odds are in Nicko's favor. Clive has been out of Iron Maiden for so long that Nicko has a huge advantage from all the people that have seen and heard him in person through the years. The question might be - will it be close.
We predict Nicko 70% and Clive 30%

Final Four drummers!
Will it be an all Iron Maiden finals? Clive Burr needs to get past Bill Ward to make it and Nicko McBrain needs to get past John Bonham.

Google screws up again!
The polls (powered by google) got screwy in the last 5 minutes of the polls. This happened two match-ups ago. The match up between Neil Peart and Clive Burr was inconclusive because the data was unavailable.
The other match ups were clear and move on. As soon as we get the data we will set it up.

Quarterfinals are up!
Two Iron Maiden drummers, one Canadian and five others from some of the most legendary bands of all time.
Even though we are far into the tournament expect some blowouts in this round. The only match up that could be interesting is Bill Ward and Nick Mason. Nick Mason has been defeating other high profile drummers so don't be surprised if Nick keeps his contest with Bill Ward close.

3RD ROUND MATCH UPS ARE SET!
Third round has an interesting group. The Appice brothers are both alive and well in the tournament. There are still a couple drummers that played in the same band. Nick McBrain and Clive Burr from Iron Maiden, Scott Travis and Dave Holland from Judas Priest, Vinnie Appice and Bill Ward from Black Sabbath.
The surprise of the tournament has to be Nick Mason from Pink Floyd who defeated the Slipknot drummer and Dave Grohl. Will Nick continue his surprise run past legendary hired gun Carmine Appice? Only time and your votes will tell!

2ND ROUND MATCH UPS ARE SET!
Sorry about the delay in posting 2nd round match ups. This time it wasn't Asok's fault it was google's polls, which were unavailable for hours.
There were some big blowouts in the first round, which is expected, but there should be some great match ups in this round. Buddy Rich was a wildcard entry into the tournament and posted a solid win and now faces Igor Cavalera from Sepultura - should be interesting!
Other match ups to keep an eye out for include:
Alex Van Halen VS Phil Rudd - two drummers from major multi-platinum acts. We think Phil Rudd will get the win.
Roger Taylor from Queen is pitted against legendary Who drummer and wild man Keith Moon. Even from the grave Keith Moon is a force to be dealt with!
Keith Moon on Saturday Night Live
